Senior Instrumentation & Electrical Engineer

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Senior Instrumentation & Electrical Engineer to meet the needs of existing clients and future workloads. This role could be based within either our New Plymouth, TaupÅ, or Wellington based teams and is a permanent position.

You will be taking the lead on:
- Providing design assistance in the identification, selection and procurement of I&E equipment or components
- Leading the preparation of quotations / proposals; technical solutions; risk identification & mitigation; cost basis; and implementation approach to ensure ‘fit for purpose' solutions that meet customer specifications
- Ensuring designs are fit for purpose and tasks are completed successfully (accurately, in a timely fashion and cost effectively)
- Consistent use of engineering and design standards, systems, and processes
- Participating in design reviews before implementation to ensure quality, consistency, and coordination with all aspects of the installation
- Coordinating with other regional offices to share resources and execute larger projects
- Actively participating in increasing self-exposure to other disciplines
- Proactively familiarising yourself with any relevant documents, including policies, plans, procedures, systems, contractual requirements, customer requirements and relevant previous designs
You will have the following skills and experience:
- Relevant tertiary level qualification (or relevant industry experience)
- A minimum of 7 years' experience as an Instrument and Electrical Engineer
- Knowledge of LV systems from cable sizing to development of single line diagrams.
- Ability to size and specify industrial instrumentation
- Experienced in specification of Hazardous Area Equipment (Gas and Dust)
- Broad knowledge of Control Systems and Architecture
- Previous experience in a relevant industry - Heavy Industry, Energy, Pulp and Paper or FMCG.
- Knowledge of I&E design (cable schedules, cable tray routing and specification, motor control schematic and wiring design, etc.)
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills
- Stakeholder management experience in a client-facing role (customer focused)
- Ability to work in a team environment
