Senior Civil & Structural Engineer

New Plymouth, New Zealand

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Senior Civil Structural Engineer/Civil Structural Engineer to meet the needs of existing clients and future workloads. This role could be based within either our New Plymouth, Taupō, or Wellington - based teams and is a permanent position.

You will be taking the lead on:

  • Preparing materials take-offs / schedules of quantities for civil / structural projects
  • Carrying out civil / structural engineering calculations and producing technical documentation
  • Ensuring company and client expectations are managed appropriately on-time and within budget
  • Directly liaising with Project Managers, Engineers and other team members to ensure engineering solutions are within scope
  • Proactively familiarising yourself with any relevant documents, including policies, plans, procedures, systems, contractual requirements, customer requirements and relevant previous engineering solutions

You will have the following skills and experience:

  • A minimum of 7 years' experience as a Civil/Structural Engineer
  • Experience with structural analysis tools such as Microstran or STAAD is preferred.
  • Experience in construction environment and ability to get ‘hands on' in the construction environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with Project Managers, Engineers and other professionals
  • Proven problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional customer focus to ensure client requirements are delivered
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required
