Mechanical Tradespeople (Fitter / Welder)

Our reputation is built on excellence in engineering, construction, fabrication, mechanical trades, industrial coatings, and scaffolding across sectors including energy, petrochemicals, dairy, pharmaceuticals, geothermal, water treatment, and infrastructure.

DIALOG Fitzroy are currently searching for experienced & qualified Mechanical Tradespeople to join our team to meet the demands of project needs and a growing workload. This permanent, full-time role will be based in the Upper North Island.

If you have the following skills and experience this opportunity might just be what you are looking for:

  • Relevant Mechanical Engineering Trade qualifications or indentured tradesman
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the industry
  • Experience with some of the below would be ideal:
    • Pipe welding and fabrication
    • Structural steel fabrication and welding
    • Vessel experience desirable but not essential
    • Able to interpret workshop/engineering drawings
    • Exemplary safety mentality
    • Ability to work unsupervised and within a team
    • Fabrication and installation of pressure piping systems
    • Fabrication and installation of structural steel
    • ASME qualified welder
    • Working knowledge of oil & gas process equipment
    • Experience with fuel and distribution terminals
    • Interpretation of isometric drawings and plant & instrument diagrams
    • Ability to work unsupervised and within a team
    • Passion for clients and project delivery
    • Experience and qualified in construction mobile plant operation

Pre-Employment Requisites

  • Able to pass Drug and Alcohol Screening along with a Pre-Employment Medical
  • The legal entitlement to work in New Zealand
