Engineering Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Engineering Manager to support our multidisciplinary engineering team. The role is accountable for day‑to‑day engineering delivery. Ensuring the right people are doing the right work, at the right time, and that engineering jobs are delivered efficiently, safely, and to plan.

This role managers the Mechanical, Instrumentation, Controls, & Electrical, Civil/Structural, Process Engineering teams and the Engineering Design teams. You will manage resource management, planning and prioritization, along with providing people leadership and ensuring that output meets the requirements of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Allocate engineers and designers across projects; balance workloads and capabilities.

  • Plan work to meet project and client deadlines; sequence work for efficiency; re‑prioritise in response to operational change.

  • Tracks hours against jobs and budgets; monitor utilisation, productivity, and rework; address performance issues; provide job performance reporting.

  • Ensure outputs meet requirements; coordinate engineering with construction, fabrication, and procurement; resolve delivery issues; maintain momentum on active jobs.

  • Acts as the Primary interface with project teams, construction/fabrication, procurement, commercial and planning; ensure information is timely and fit for purpose.

  • Line management of engineering staff; performance management and coaching; leave, wellbeing, and day‑to‑day people matters.

  • Experience in resource management, planning and prioritization for an engineering and design team.

  • A proven people leader, with a track record to build high‑performing, engaged teams.

  • Have an understanding of engineering and design principles.

  • Excellent organisation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, multidiscipline engineering environments.
