Cost Control Administrator

About the Role

As a Cost Control Administrator, you will work closely with Project Managers and the Projects team to ensure timely and accurate budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting across our projects. You'll play a key role in setting up jobs in our CRM (D365), assisting with managing project budgets, controlling variations, and forecasting project profit margins. Your insights will help shape the financial health of our projects, providing a semi-independent view of cost performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform basic scheduling using Microsoft Project.

  • Set up projects in Dynamics 365, including budgets and monthly cost control activities.

  • Develop and maintain earned value metrics, cost forecasts and project activity codes.

  • Prepare monthly cost control reports covering budgets, milestones, productivity, WIP, variations and financial status.

  • Support Project Managers with forecasting, project controls and project close‑out documentation.

  • Prepare payment claims, raise invoices and assist with financial administration.

  • Identify and implement improvements to cost control processes.

  • Ensure financial accuracy across program‑level and subproject reporting.

  • Provide internal audit support and maintain strong internal controls.

  • Investigate financial issues and support remediation activities.

  • Contribute to business process improvements that enhance operational and financial performance.

  • Uphold all delegated HSE responsibilities and actively support a zero‑harm culture through incident prevention and prompt reporting.


What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Strong experience in project controls and/or cost accounting

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365), Microsoft Office, and accounting software

  • Background in working withing the engineering, petro chemical/oil and gas construction industries

  • Understanding of project management principles including earned value, CPI, and SPI and related metrics

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams
