Make your next career move with a role that blends hands‑on engineering, project delivery, and meaningful client engagement. We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to help deliver a diverse portfolio of minor capital and maintenance projects in the Upper North Island.

About the Role

As a Senior Project Engineer, you'll support the Portfolio Manager or Project Manager in planning, organising and delivering engineering projects safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

You'll work closely with engineering, production, HSE, quality, subcontractors and clients to ensure smooth project execution and strong technical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engineering inputs, calculations, reports and technical documentation.

  • Review drawings, specifications and technical documents for accuracy and compliance.

  • Identify risks, resolve technical issues and implement preventative actions.

  • Assist with project scheduling and progress monitoring.

  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and internal project teams.

  • Support scope development, variation management and project reporting.

  • Maintain strong client and vendor relationships.

  • Complete QA documentation, ITPs, verification reports and as‑builts.

  • Escalate scope, cost, schedule or quality issues promptly.

  • Support business development and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with all HSE requirements and promote safe work practices.

Successful applicant will need:

  • Relevant tertiary or trade qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years' post‑tertiary engineering experience

  • Strong technical engineering background in a relevant field

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, SAP and MS Project (highly desirable)

  • Site Safe or equivalent H&S training for managing subcontractors

  • Strong communication, problem‑solving and organisational skills

  • The ability to build positive working relationships across teams and clients
