DIALOG Fitzroy is seeking experienced, motivated Quality Control Engineers to support growing workload demand across our projects. This role is ideal for a quality-focused professional who enjoys working collaboratively and takes pride in upholding high engineering and fabrication standards.
In this role, you will help maintain compliance, quality assurance, and project integrity across a varied portfolio of work, including Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Structural Steel, and Geothermal projects.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Quality Control Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring fabrication and construction activities comply with project specifications, industry standards, and client expectations.
- Quality Plans: Write and execute Inspection and Test plans for diverse projects (Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, structural steel, Geothermal)
- Daily Tasks: Attend pre-start meetings, ensure work meets high standards, approve timesheets, and tackle team issues
- Standards Mastery: Work with standards like ASME VIII, PD5500, AS 1210, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, ASME IX, BS EN ISO 9606-1, AS/NZS 3992, AS/NZS 1554.1, AS/NZS 1554.6, AS/NZS 5131, AWS D1.1
- Inspection Duties: Prepare weld maps, track materials, manage weld control sheets, and perform visual inspections as a Certified Welding Inspector and coordinate NDT.
- Communication: Collaborate with Project Engineers, Managers, Statutory Inspectors, Client Reps, Workshop staff, and QC team members
- Working closely with Project Engineers, Project Managers, Statutory Inspectors, Client Representatives, Workshop Personnel, and the wider QC team
What We're Looking For
Experience
- Proven experience in a mechanical engineering, fabrication, or quality control
- Understanding of quality assurance processes and inspection requirements
Qualifications
- Engineering Qualification
- CBIP Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) (or international equivalent) certification and/or Welding Supervision qualification
