Mechanical Supervisor

DIALOG Fitzroy Australia is currently searching for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor with Oil & Gas experience to join our team to meet the demands of our growing workload and upcoming projects. This is a permanent, full-time role primarily based in Brisbane, but the successful applicant may be required to travel to project sites or away for work.

What the job entails:
- Plan, coordinate and lead a team of Boilermaker/ Welders, Mech Fitters and Trade assistants
- Reading and understanding Engineering Drawings
- Effective planning, scheduling, management of personnel, resources, and equipment to meet project requirements
- Participate in meetings, share information, and provide input on issues
- Requesting pricing for materials from a list of preferred vendors
- Manage and maintain stakeholder communications and expectations
You will have the following skills and experience:
- Australian Trade qualification in Boiler making/Fabrication discipline (Certificate 3 in Engineering)
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as trade-based supervisor with maintenance/shutdown background
- Tanks/Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel experience desirable
- Good communication skills - both verbal and written
- Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and the ability to understand and follow processes
- Proven ability managing multidiscipline work crews, and proven construction experience
- Computer literate
- Are a motivated self-starter, and are energetic and focused
- A positive attitude and be an active member of the team
- Knowledge in the use of power tools and other construction equipment
- Excellent working knowledge of workplace health and safety
- Open drivers' licence
- White Card
- Current Work Safely at Heights Certification
- Current Enter and Work in Confined Space Certification
Pre-Employment Requisites
- Able to pass Drug and Alcohol Screening along with a Pre-Employment Medical
- You must have current legal entitlement to work in Australia.
