We're seeking a proactive, people-focused HSEQ Coordinator to help drive a positive safety culture across our Wellington operations.

Working across industrial maintenance, shutdowns, construction and engineering projects, you'll partner with frontline teams to improve safety performance, influence positive behaviours, and support successful project delivery. This hands-on, site-based role offers exposure to a diverse range of projects throughout the Wellington region.

About the Role

As a key member of our HSEQ team, you'll work alongside project managers, supervisors, tradespeople and clients to promote safe work practices and support continuous improvement across our operations.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Building strong relationships with frontline teams, supervisors, and subcontractors
  • Leading safety conversations, toolbox talks, and daily site engagement
  • Conducting site inspections, audits, and observations
  • Supporting risk assessments and critical risk management activities
  • Assisting with incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Identifying opportunities to improve safety performance and operational efficiency
  • Contributing to a culture where safety, accountability and continuous improvement are valued

What We're Looking For

You don't just talk safety, you bring it to life.

You'll have:

  • Experience in construction, maintenance, industrial, or heavy industry environments
  • Exposure to HSEQ systems, audits, inspections, and site-based safety practices
  • Knowledge of SWMS/JHAs, permits to work, and practical risk management
  • Relevant HSEQ training or qualifications (minimum OHS Representative Training), or practical experience in a site-based safety role.
  • Strong communication skills and relationship-building skills
  • The confidence to engage effectively with people at all levels of the organisation
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused approach
